Farouk CHI 1 Inch Ceramic Flat Hairstyling Iron

How it works
The iron is rather heavy, has two flat tongs lined with a ceramic plate on each tong's inner surface. The unit stays open until you close it across a lock of hair. It plugs into the wall, heats up in about half a minute and gets QUITE warm, well, hot even. I prop mine on a towel to prevent burning the resin vanity surface. The iron is about one inch wide, slightly curved inside.

Unlike a curling iron made of metal, the ceramic surface straightens and somehow reduces static. And the smoothness, the glass-like surface slides across the hair, contacting each hair to make a shiny smooth finish.

How to Use
Turn on iron, let heat up. Now, take a comb and pull out a lock of hair and as you comb, run the iron behind it down the entire length of the hair. Try to get as close to the scalp as you can. Repeat this all over your head. If your hair is bushy, use hairdresser clips to section off the hair that's not being styled at the moment. This really helps.
